Stairs of Baltimore-Washington

I really like public staircases. Coming across them in the wild is a real thrill. My favorite recent encounter with public stairs came while wandering around the area of Patapsco Valley State Park near the former site of the Bloede Dam.

I made a simple map of staircases like the one I recently found in the Baltimore-Washington region. I pulled OpenStreetMap data using overpass turbo. The map displays step count where available. Points are classified based on number of steps and the exact counts are also available on via pop-up. The staircase lines are also visible, and classified based on whether or not they have a handrail. Check out the map by clicking the screenshot below.
